Part and Sum Digital Zine
The assignment was to create a digital zine for Part and Sum to share with current and prospective clients.
The Strategy behind it:
Our team wanted to create a way for Part and Sum to showcase their ‘figure-it-out-itude’ through a more casual or editorial medium.
With the help of:
a Social Media Competitive Analysis
a Newsletter Competitor Audit
a Part and Sum SWOT
internal feedback interviews
several hours of research and fine-tuning
and some fun wordplay,
we came up with the layout and design of the zine along with original reoccurring content ideas and copy.
the sum+ary title is a play on words. The 'sum' comes from 'Part and Sum' and the purpose of the zine was to share brief 'sum'maries to readers and allow them to read more on the Part and Sum Notion Page.
A table of contents to show the reader what they will see within this edition of the zine. The plan is to have reoccurring segments for readers to look forward to within each edition.
A letter from the editors is to give a brief explanation over the theme of each zine. Each zine will cover different themes that make Part and Sum, Part and Sum!

Original Content! ++sum time ago...: aka Part & Sum Time Capsule. This segment will discuss trends in marketing from the previous year and how companies have instituted these strategies to promote growth with their brand ++ parts of the sum: each zine will highlight one strategist or growth marketer per zine and have them discuss a marketing strategy they've either used or interested in.
Another bigger story which will be repurposed Part and Sum OS content. This is repurposed in order to reach new clients or readers in a new way aka the zine!
sum+thing to look out for (What's Trending?) : this segment highlight current trends in the industry and how companies are using these trends to reach their target audience in upcoming campaigns
++sum trends: all growth isn't created equal is a reoccurring segment that will cover trends within the industry and the world that happen either last year, 3 years ago, etc. ++sum talk: this segment will highlight something overheard within the Part and Sum space. Think of it like an Overheard In New York but for Part and Sum.
The last page of the zine is to give the reader a CTA or Call to Action. In this case, the CTA would be to follow Part and Sum on all socials to read more about their thought leadership and strategic thinking.
